Appliance Repair FAQ - St. Augustine, FL
In Saint Augustine, Saint John’s, Palm Coast and Jacksonville
Do you repair commercial appliances too?
Yes. GDoing Appliance Repair provides both residential and commercial appliance repair throughout Northeast Florida.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. GDoing Appliance Repair carries general liability insurance and is licensed to handle refrigerant gas. Note that the state of Florida does not issue a dedicated "appliance repair" license, so no appliance repair company in Florida holds one — but we are properly insured and licensed for refrigerant work.
How much is the diagnostic / service call fee?
The diagnostic visit is $75, and GDoing Appliance Repair waives it completely when you approve the repair. So if we complete your repair, the service call is effectively $0 — you pay only for the repair itself.
Do you offer same-day appliance repair?
Yes. GDoing Appliance Repair offers same-day appliance repair for most common issues with refrigerators, washers, dryers, dishwashers and ovens. Many service calls in the Jacksonville area get a response in under four hours, depending on technician availability and parts in stock.
What areas do you serve in Florida?
GDoing Appliance Repair serves Northeast Florida, including Jacksonville, St. Augustine, St. Johns, Palm Coast, Ponte Vedra, Green Cove Springs, Nocatee and nearby communities, plus surrounding ZIP codes such as 32080, 32081, 32082, 32084, 32092, 32086, 32259, 32095 and 32258.
What if I'm outside your service area but still want GDoing to do the repair?
Just give us a call. We primarily serve Jacksonville, St. Augustine and the surrounding Northeast Florida communities, but if you're just outside the area and want GDoing Appliance Repair specifically, we'll do our best to help.
What appliances and brands do you repair?
GDoing Appliance Repair services refrigerators, freezers, washing machines, dryers, dishwashers, ovens, stoves, cooktops, ranges, microwaves and ice makers. We work on all major U.S. brands — including Samsung, LG, Whirlpool, GE, Bosch, KitchenAid, Frigidaire, Maytag, Kenmore, Electrolux and Haier — as well as high-end brands such as Sub-Zero, Viking, Thermador and Miele.
Can you give me an estimate remotely, without a visit?
In most cases we recommend an on-site diagnostic so we know exactly which parts are needed before quoting. However, if you already have a written quote from another appliance repair company, we'll match it for the same repair using the same parts — just send us the quote and we'll give you our price.
Do you use genuine parts, and are they covered by warranty?
Yes. GDoing Appliance Repair has supply contracts with major U.S. parts distributors and uses only original (OEM) manufacturer parts. Because the parts are genuine, your repair carries the same warranty the manufacturer provides — typically a 1-year warranty on parts and labor.
Do you offer a warranty on your repairs?
Yes. Because we install original manufacturer parts, your repair is backed by the same warranty the manufacturer offers — a 1-year warranty on parts and labor for most repairs.
Can you install a part I bought myself?
Yes, we can install a part you supply. Please note that customer-supplied parts are not covered by our repair warranty, since we can't guarantee the quality or compatibility of parts we didn't source.
Can I bring my appliance to your shop instead of a home visit?
No. GDoing Appliance Repair diagnoses and repairs appliances on-site in your home, because many problems can only be identified under real operating conditions — such as how the appliance behaves connected to your power, water or venting. Our technician comes to you.
Do you offer any discounts?
Our pricing is already among the lowest in the area, and we offer additional discounts for military members and teachers — just mention it when you book your appointment.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards as well as cash. Payment is due when the work is completed, and the exact amount matches the quote you approved before the repair started — no surprises. Any questions about payment are happily answered when we confirm your appointment at 904-946-9057.
Can I reschedule or cancel my appointment?
Of course — plans change. Call or text 904-946-9057 as early as you can and we’ll move your visit to the next window that works for you, including weekends (we’re open Monday through Saturday, 9 AM – 7 PM).
What exactly happens during the diagnostic visit?
The technician inspects your appliance, pinpoints the root cause and explains it in plain English. You then get an exact written quote for the fix — before any work begins. If you approve, the $75 diagnostic fee is waived and the repair usually happens right then: 95% of our jobs are completed on that first visit.
Do I need to be home during the repair?
Someone 18 or older needs to be there to let the technician in and approve the quote — after that, feel free to get on with your day while we work. If the timing is tricky, tell us when we schedule and we’ll find a window that fits.
How long does a repair visit take?
A typical visit runs about an hour: diagnosis first, then the repair itself once you approve the quote. Because our trucks carry the most common parts for the brands we service, 95% of repairs finish on that same visit. If a special-order part is needed, we schedule the follow-up before we leave.
More Real Questions, Answered Plainly
These come up on actual calls every week, so they belong here alongside the basics. Some are questions people half-apologize for asking, which is never necessary; the entire purpose of this page is to save you a phone call, and asking costs nothing but a minute either way. If your question is missing from this page entirely, call 904-946-9057 or send the request form; a person reads both, Monday through Saturday.
Do you repair brands that are not on your list?
Usually, yes. The published list covers the brands Northeast Florida owns most, not the outer limit of what we can service. Describe the appliance when you call: if genuine parts and proper service documentation exist for it, we take the job. If they do not, we say so on the phone, honestly and for nothing, rather than experiment at your expense. Uncommon brands get a straight answer in one call.
My appliance is quite old — is repair still worth it?
Often it is, and sometimes it clearly is not. Age alone decides less than people assume; condition, part availability and the nature of the fault decide more. Older mechanical machines are frequently the easiest ones to save. The diagnostic settles it with facts, and when replacement genuinely makes better sense, that is exactly the advice you will get. A machine that ran dependably for years often earns one more repair; a repeat offender rarely does.
Do you install new appliances?
We are a repair company first, and we stay honest about that. Installation of newly purchased appliances is not our core service; repair is where the training and the truck stock go. Where installation-type work is part of a repair, reconnecting, leveling and testing a machine we have serviced, it is simply part of the job. Call ahead and we will tell you plainly whether your situation fits.
What happens if the same problem comes back?
You call, we return, and the 1-year warranty on parts and labor does the talking. If the fault traces to the part we fitted or the work we performed, the return visit and the correction cost you nothing. This is also why our diagnosis aims at root causes rather than symptoms: a warranty teaches a company to fix things once. Keep your paperwork if you like, but we keep the records either way; one phone call starts it.
Can you match the parts and finish of my kitchen set?
Yes, within what the manufacturer makes possible. We order genuine parts against your model and serial number, so handles, trim and visible panels arrive in the maker’s own finish rather than a near-match. Panel-ready and integrated appliances are handled with their cabinetry in mind. If a finish has been discontinued, you hear the available options before anything is ordered. Having the model number ready at the first call makes the matching faster still.
