Whirpool gas dryer repair
GDoing Appliance Repair specializes in both electrical and gas dryer repair.
When your gas dryer isn’t drying properly, there could be various reasons. Firstly, it’s essential to check the gas tap to ensure it’s turned on. Recently, we fixed a Whirlpool gas dryer that wasn’t heating adequately and required 2-3 cycles to dry a single load. Unlike electrical dryers, where such issues often stem from air duct problems, gas dryers typically face issues with components like the flame sensor or cycling thermostat.
To determine which components need replacement to fix the dryer, our appliance repair technician need to disassemble it and inspect specific elements. In the case of this dryer, it was dismantled, allowing our technician to access the flame sensor. It was discovered that the sensor wasn’t accurately detecting the existing flame, causing it to shut off the gas valve for safety reasons, resulting in the gas being on for just about a minute. As a result, the dryer was warm or sometimes hot inside but not for long enough to dry the clothes effectively. After replacing the flame sensor, the customer was able to resume using the dryer. The cost of the repair was four times less than the price of purchasing a new dryer.
